BC BigTree Statistics

Tree height (Ht.), diameter at breast height (DBH) and crown spread (Cr.) statistics of all living and dead trees for each species in the Registry.  Statistics include the number (#) of records, 50th percentile (p50), 80th percentile (p80), and maximum value for each measurement.  Definitions: p50 – median or middle range of the data, 50% of the records are ≤ to this value; p80 – 80% of the records are ≤ to this value. All measurements are in meters. For trees with a province wide range, * indicates trees on the coast and ^ in the interior of BC.  The measurements of Registry trees identified as multi-stem, which potentially capture multiple trees or multiple stems growing very tightly together, are not included in this analysis.
