BC BigTree Dead Tree Registry

All dead trees in the Registry, including 13 trees which were nominated as dead trees. The year nominated (Y nom), year last measured (Y meas), year reported dead (Y dead) and Status (Stat) are listed.  Stat indicates causes of death: 1 – fire, weather, insects, disease, old age, other natural causes; 2 – harvesting; 3 – removal for development/safety concerns; 4 – unknown. As trees are not visited annually, the year of death is often estimated. The height (Ht.), diameter at breast height (DBH) and crown spread (Cr.) are in meters.  Tree Score (Sc.) is based on importance score.  For trees with a province wide range, * indicates trees on the coast and ^ in the interior of BC. Tree scores marked with ” indicate measurements potentially capture multiple trees growing very tightly together.
